Daytrip Volubilis – Moulay Idriss – Meknès
This day trip begins by crossing an agricultural region of cereals, legumes and olive groves to discover a vast plain containing the ruins of Volubilis, a Roman city from the 1st century of the Christian era. The experience continues towards the holy city of Moulay Idriss to admire the panorama and the round and white minaret, decorated with verses of the Koran in green mosaics.
Upon arrival in Meknes, you have a magnificent view of the Medina, then the tour of the ramparts with monumental gates dating from the 17th century, the stables (Roua), the granaries (Héri), and the stud farms. An essential stop is the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismaïl, which for a long time was the only mosque that non-Muslims could visit in Morocco. We then leave through the very famous Bab Mansour on the vast El Hédim square. On the other side of the square, the Moroccan Art Museum "Dar Jamaï" offers a wide variety of handicrafts.
To complete the experience, take a lunch in the vineyards with a tour and wine tasting at Château Roslane...
